HEARING GOD'S WHISPER*

"And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice." – 1 Kings 19:12 (NKJV)

In a world filled with noise, both external and internal, it can be difficult to hear the gentle whisper of God. Elijah experienced this on Mount Horeb. After the chaos of wind, earthquake, and fire, God didn’t speak through the powerful displays of nature, but through a still, small voice—a whisper. God often speaks to us in quiet moments, when we slow down, quiet our hearts, and listen.

In the rush of life, we can become so consumed with busyness, distractions, and our own thoughts that we miss the subtle ways God is speaking to us. He whispers when we are still, and His voice often comes when we least expect it, in moments of prayer, silence, or even during everyday tasks.
